From IMDb: “Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan butts heads with a brash new recruit. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.”

When people say “Baywatch” you instantly remember the awful TV show from years ago that Joey and Chandler used to watch from their LazyBoys for the bouncing boobs. From the trailer, it looked like it was going to be a bit of harmless fun; kind of self aware like the Jump Street movies and not taking itself too seriously at all.

Unfortunately it fell a little flat. The movie took itself a little bit too seriously in my opinion, and the comedy aspects were a little bit try hard. The movie was entertaining enough, but it was definitely missing something to make it stand up and be memorable at all really.

The acting was pretty solid all round: Dwayne Johnson seems to handling the transition from wrestler to actor pretty well. It’s just a shame the script was as ropey as the TV show used to be – which would have been alright had the movie made some light out of it’s source material and not tried to be semi serious.

It was the kind of movie you forget about as soon as you get in the car to drive home. People ask if it was any good and you kind of shrug and say “Ahh, it was alright” but that is literally all you really have to say.It was entertaining enough for it’s runtime, but nothing special. And that is why I don’t have much to comment about it 🙁
