From IMDb: “February 12 is just another day in Sam’s charmed life, until it turns out to be her last. Stuck reliving her last day over and over, Sam untangles the mystery around her death and discovers everything she’s losing.”

A while ago I read the book this movie was based upon after watching the trailer and thinking it held potential. I wasn’t overly impressed with the book but was willing to give the movie a chance because I thought it’d translate well to screen.

It was OK. As an adaptation of the book I guess it was pretty sound. I had a number of petty issues though that just meant the movie didn’t really do much for me.

The script wasn’t exactly strong. I honestly can’t say I found the source material groundbreaking, but the scripting was just missing something that I can’t put my finger on, and it felt as though the actors were only half heartedly putting their effort into the movie.

The other really pathetic reason I wasn’t the biggest fan of the movie was that not a single actor cast looked anything like the character’s I’d envisioned in my head. I know that’s stupid, but it was difficult to relate the movie to the source material when no one resembled who they were supposed to in my mind.

It was OK for a Friday evening in chilling on the sofa (I lead a very exciting life). It’s not the best movie I’ve ever watched and it certainly wasn’t the worst. I just felt as though it was a bit lacklustre, and aside from keeping me busy for an hour and a half it didn’t really do anything for me.

My rating: 5.5/10
